Deer & Dough Bakery began in Melinda's home in James Bay during the pandemic. It was a great way to connect with neighbours, hone the craft and work with local produce in fruit pies. Fast forward 5 years and now with a team of 8, Melinda still enjoys connecting with the community and creating simple yet delicious foods and goodies. Deer and Dough maintains a focus on un-fussy, classic baked goods while sourcing as many local berries, herbs, and veggies as possible. Their savoury foods also take advantage of what's in season locally, creating inspiration for delicious soups, grain bowls and specials. Deer and Dough has brought on a local food lover on board as Chef, making this all the more possible!
